Overview
We created an 18 second-long commercial used on Google Ads and Meta to promote Japanese fashion to overseas customers, together with a dedicated landing page and several sets of static ads visuals that would highlight various product categories available on ZenMarket.
The Client
ZenMarket is an e-commerce company based in Osaka. It is a proxy service that acts as an intermediary between Japanese sellers and overseas users. Many Japanese e-commerce sites are still not able to handle overseas purchases, and ZenMarket is able to bridge this gap and offer their services natively in 19 languages.
The Project
For the static visuals, we kept it chic, fun, young and bold to capture the attention of the target audience: fashion collectors and treasure hunters.
In this campaign, we focused less on the actual clothes or brands, and more on the atmosphere of it all, as the final goal was to communicate that “ZenMarket is your new partner to get all the exclusive and unique fashion items directly from Japan.”
We offered localization of all materials into 19 languages, which were then used for A/B testing on Facebook ads and Google Ads’ most popular placements. The translations was provided by the client’s marketing team.
For the commercial, we worked with 2 models and used a selection of various outfits to represent the different fashion styles we wanted to display in the video, and shot at 3 different locations in Osaka over the course of 1 day.
The goal was to have a dynamic ad that highlighted the diversity of Japanese fashion, especially focusing on popular sub-genres, and display them in action throughout Osaka, where ZenMarket is based.
The original direction was to shoot a 60 second-long commercial, as well as take supporting photos to later be used for landing pages, static ads and carousel posts on social media.
During the editing process, we created three additional versions: an 18 second-long version, as well as 60-second and 18-second vertical versions.
